Either, but my: Recommendation is for the podiatrist. They see more toenails problems and, depending on the diagnosis, may have a few more ways of treating it.

Both good options: A podiatrist is a doctor of podiatric medicine (dpm) who is qualified by his or her education and training and experience to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the foot, ankle, and related structures of the leg. Practitioners may focus on many different specialty areas, including surgery, orthopedics, biomechanics, sports medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, primary care, and wound care.

Do I see a podiatris: Either one can perform a culture or a biopsy to find out the course of the problem , however a podiatrist sees more feet and might be more specific and quick to diagnose your problem.
