Not usually needed: If the miscarriage is complete and uncomplicated, no procedure is needed to clean out the uterus. If there is retained tissue, clot, or evidence of infection then additional steps might be needed.

They clean: the uterus by waiting to pass naturally, using medications to speed it up, or surgery to scrape or vacuum
