UTI: Omeprazole cannot cure a uti. It is a proton pump inhibitor and decreases the acid that is produced in the stomach so it decreases the chance of an ulcer or gastritis. A UTI will involve bacteria infecting the bladder/urine and although it can resolve on its own, often requires antibiotics.
