Suicidal: If still suicidal after a long hospital stay, there's still work to do in terms of finding healthier ways than suicide to deal with the problems of living. Hoping the hospital has dialectic behavioral therapy amongst its offered treatments, along with a step-down or intensive outpatient program for continuity. Your doctors should be optimizing your medications and focusing on talk therapy too.

State hospital : In all states I have practiced in, if you were still found to be suicidal after a. Maximal allowable stay in a community or university hospital, a judge would hold a hearing and you would be sent to a state hospital until you could be safely released.

Need evaluation: Possibly the medication treatment plan that has been initiated is not the appropriate medications for you. If you have not yet had a genetic test to determine what medicines you might best response you, this might be a good time. As for a psychiatric genetic test (such as genesight by assurex) to help direct treatment. Results back in 3 days! no psych med will change outcome that fast anyway.
