Nerve damage: Nerve conduction testing checks for demyelination or loss of nerve fibers, such as in neuropathy or local pressure damage (eg carpal tunnel). It involves small needles stuck into your soft tissues, and a low current applied. Harmless and easy to tolerate for most unless you have a low pain threshold.
