Watchful waiting: It is normal after diarrhea to have no stools until the return of bulky stool. You have essentially cleared out the bowel and it may take a few days to fill it again with food. Be patient and continue to exercise and drink fluids. This will help move the bowel normally.

Diarrhea/constipatio: It does happen that you go without a bm after a diarrhea. Going without a bm for 5 days is excessive. You may try to take a laxative such as MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) 17 grams. Also, taking a pill or two of senna if no bm that day before bedtime may help as well.
