Take care of: Yourself. Be a role model for your child. If you have a problem with alcohol, keep it in check. If you have bouts with depression, work with a therapist. This will help you be 'present' for your son and teach him about overcoming problems. Play with him and also teach him to follow rules. How you behave and solve problems will help him learn to do the same.
