It depends: It depends on what's created these trust issues; much suffering is involved. Generally, long-term psychotherapy is needed. Many who experience such issues have been through traumatic experiences at the hands of trusted others. If this has been a parent or other important relation, it makes it hard to even trust the therapist. It's nearly impossible to change this by yourself, but help's available.
