Varicocele : The veins are probably thrombosed(full of clotted blood) or the varicocele may persist due to collateral circulation. If it is clotted blood, time may reduce the size or they may have to be excised if they are unsightly. If is due to collateral circulation additional embolization or surgery may be needed.

I would : Go see the physician who did the embolization, although is is possible that the veins have clotted blood in them. Worth a visit to the doctor who has experience with the procedure!
