Probably not: The thyroid is located at the base of the neck and is not usually aggravated by physical activity. The neck muscles close to the thyroid could become tender or painful depending on the activity.

Healthy thyroid...: ...Should never, ever hurt. In fact, i've never had a patient with thyroiditis complain to me about thyroid pain, although i suppose it's possible. And the way the thyroid is situated, you are much more likely to injure the trachea or the chin than the gland itself.
