Start slow: Start solids at 6-8 months of age. Cereal first, then vegetables, then fruit, then meat (by about 10-12 months). Start with one tbsp cereal mixed with milk once a day. Increase as tolerated to 2-3 times a day. Once eating solids well, add one new food a week. Milk is still the most important food. Training baby: The goal of introducing solids is to help baby learn a new feeding method & transition them to the table.A simple rice cereal made up as a paste is a good starter food. Gradually introducing one new food every few days to a week, allows you to monitor food reactions volume and frequency are less important than a pleasent feed.Bm or formula should remain the basic nutrition source.
