Dermatitis: Based on your brief description, it is hard to tell if you just have contact dermatitis to hair dye only or you also have other dermatitis like atopic dermatitis. If you have known allergic contact dermatitis to hair dye, your skin would be inflamed providing that it has enough time to be in contact with the allergen. In both cases, dermatitis last for several days or longer if not treated.
