Swollen tonsils: From your question, i surmise that you have Doxycycline for another problem previous to this. Tonsils can swell for a lot of things besides infection. Taking medicines you have around the house for a condition that has not been properly diagnosed is a practice that i really have to discourage. I suggest getting your tonsils checked out so that you can get proper treatment.
