Runny nose: A runny nose can be from multiple problems. It could be allergies, sinusitis, CSF leak and atrophic rhinitis. See an ENT for a full evaluation.

Clear rhinorrhea: Common causes of clear rhinorrhea include viral upper respiratory tract infection, and allergic and non-allergic rhinitis. If this happens after a head or facial trauma/procedure, cerebrospinal fluid leakage should be suspected. If the latter is not the case, see your local pharmacist who can recommend over-the-counter medications. See your doctor if persistent.

Usually not: This is usually from a common condition called post nasal drip. Basically excess mucus builds up in the nose and back of throat. Usually due to allergies, rhinitis, sinusitis. This is treated easily with decongestants, anti histamines, and sometimes antibiotics.

Altered nasal cycle: When you lie down on the left side the left nostril runs (?) and when you turn over, from the right nostril (?). If so, this means that your autonomic (automatic) nervous system is unbalanced. Commonest cause is poor diet.
