Bump: If the 'bump' is on the side of the big toe joint, it could be due to a bunion or a condition referred to as hallux limitus. This could be due to a bone enlargement or early degenerative joint diesease. If the bump is on the toe, then it could be due to irritation from a shoe, and or pivoting off the big toe during gait.A precription orhtotic can help reduce the irritation due to gait imbalance.
