Uterus: The potentially most devastating concern related to OB issues, is an actual rupture of the uterus during pregnancy due to its weakened structural state.

Tissue stretching: In ehlers-danlos there is more flexibility in the tissue. The skin will stretch, the other tissues about the uterus will stretch including the birth canal. Remember the tissues are more elastic during the pregnancy otherwise. Your obstetrician will be prepared for any issues you might have and sometimes high risk OB will also be involved.

Ehlers-danlos: Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is associated with miscarriage and bleeding. Other risks are dependent on the type of EDS. Because of the pregnancy-associated risks, and the potential for transmission, genetic counseling for an affected adult female is imperative. If you are planning pregnancy see a Gyn and get genetic counseling. If you are pregnant a high level US and high risk OB consult would be needed
