Difficult to say: Some people contact herpes and never have an outbreak. Some contact herpes and it may take years for some and months for others. Typically it can appear in a few weeks. 2-5 days: The incubation period for herpes (meaning the time from exposure to onset of symptoms) is at the minimum 2 days, but on average about 5-7 days.
