At your own comfort: After a dilation & curettage procedure (d&c), you may resume daily activities as tolerated. The most common side effect are cramps that may last for a couple of days, which you can take Ibuprofen for. It is also normal to have light bleeding for several days but heavy bleeding (soaking a maxi pad within one hour more than once) is abnormal.

No: You should only have mild cramping and spotting following a d&c. Staying in bed is not routine following this procedure.
