Facet syndrome?: What you describe could be pain coming from a facet joint in your back. Those are joints where one vertebral arch rests on top of another. That type of pain gets worse when you extend and rotate your back. If that is the problem there are effective treatments that a physiatrist can can help you with. First, though, try alternating heat an cold to the area and gentle stretching.
