Talk to doc.: It is best to speak to the prescribing physician! Lyrica (pregabalin) is often begun at 75 mg twice daily for fibromyalgia. Effexor is often titrated, at least the xr formulation, beginning at 37.5 for one week, then 75mg for one week before further titration depending on the target dose.

Dose titration: Increase Effexor and Lyrica (pregabalin) slowly every 3-4 wks to the maximum tolerated doses without any significant side effects. I normally start Effexor xr at 75mg/d and highest dose is 225mg/d. Highest dose of Lyrica (pregabalin) for fibromyalgia is 225mg twice a day. Hope this helps.

TITRATE: We start many meds at low dose and then add more until we get the desired clinical effect: then we use the dose that does it. Some meds - like some antibiotics - have a dose that is expected to work in a certain situation and generally does. These we don't titrate unless that dose doesn't do the thing we want.
