See eye MD: See your eye md to make sure there is no inflammation in your eyes, a common cause of light sensitivity. Also, have your doctor check your blood sugar. Sometimes the blood sugar goes up during pregnancy and can change a glasses prescription or cause a woman to need glasses when she didn't before.

May be serious: Sudden severe photo-phobia in pregnancy uses points to pituitary gland abnormalities specially with blurry eyes. So see your ob-gyn and explain your symptoms and he or she will get a neurology consult.

Dry eye syndrome: Adequate tears are necessary to lubricate the top layer of the cornea, the clear dome over the fron of your eye and the conjunctiva, the "skin" over your eye ball. When they are insufficient, small defects can occur in the top layer, exposung nerves underneath- and this causes discomfort, sandy or gritty feeling and pain. Winter and indoor heating is probably making this worse.
