A member asked:

Is it possible for larangytis to give you a blocked nose/difficulty swallowing and a wheeze?

Infection: Sounds more likely that an infection, either viral or bacterial, is causing all of the symptoms. The laryngitis is likely just one of the symptoms. If fluids and rest don't help or you develop a prolonged fever, see your doctor or go to an urgent care. If there is breathing difficulty, go now! (have someone take you).

Depends on the cause: If the cause of laryngitis is infectious, such as a 'cold virus', then the subsequent swelling to the vocal cords may cause an audible 'wheeze'. This would more than likely be accompanied by difficulty breathing through the throat, not the nose. Such an infection may be accompanied by a sore throat and difficulty swallowing.
