Annually: If you have unprotected sex with more than one partner or in other words are not in a mutually monagamous relationship you should be screened regularly. Men need not be homosexual to contract hiv, hepatitis, syphillis, hpv, herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia or a number of oher diseases.

Yes!: Homosexuals are not the only ones to get stds. If you have sex, you are at risk for stds period. Doesn't matter if you're gay, straight, bi, transgendered, etc. If you have multiple partners, you should get tested often - no strict rule but at least 2x/year. And, especially if you have any symptoms like discharge, rash, ulcers, etc.
