Anti-gas pill +: Bloated stomach can result from increased gas formation in the upper GI tract. Suggest, eat meals slooooooowly, chew the food well before swallowing (digestion starts in the mouth), and drink enough water during the day. Daily exercise also helps maintain good bowel function. May also try Tums or simethocone for the gas. Ranitidine or Pepcid (famotidine) otc may help if there is mild inflammation (gastritis).

Gastritis: Avoid fried or fatty foods, dairy products, alcohol, and fruit juices. You can try over the counter Pepcid (famotidine) or Prilosec once daily. If it's not improving in 2 weeks you should see your doctor.
