Clot in vein: Blood clot in a vein is thrombophlebitis. These usually occur in the legs below the knee, but can occur above the knee, in deep or superficial vein, or less frequently in the veins of the arms. Treatment depends upon where the clot is, in deep or superficial veins. The treatment for deep veins is usually anticoagulation. Superficial thrombophlebitis below the knee can be treated with heat alone.
