It could be reflux: Gerd is often a cause of a chronic cough, that is not associated with allergies or flaten.

Coughing: There are a hundred possible reasons for cough. These include lung cancer, allergies, pneumonia, emphysema, asthma, medication side effects, and acid reflux.. She needs to be fully evaluated by her family physician.
