Possible: Possible that your current dose is not sufficient to control your symptoms. Need to follow up with your rheumatologist.

Multiple questions: Reduction of dose to lowest effective is always a good thing. How long after the reduction did the pain recur? If less than a month, probably not related to the reduction.
