Alcoholism: The big book of alcoholics anonymous has a great paragraph early in their chapter on who is an alcoholic. I would recommend you find and read this. Switching alcohol types trying to find a different outcome is the very definition of alcoholism. It is not the diet coke. Alcohol is a drug that is classified as a depressant. Anxiety is on the spectrum with depression. Please try sobriety.

Alcohol: The alcohol content in bourbon is far greater than in beer, be careful to consume limited amounts and drink slowly with or after eating. Doubtful that the diet soda alone is causing anxiety. Best.
