Yes: Degeneration of discs can cause herniation. Herniation of discs causes bulging of cartilage and impingement on spinal nerves that innervated your back and that travel down to lower extremities.

Correct diagnosis?: It is very, very unusually for a 27 year old to have multiple disc protrusions or herniations. How have you been diagnosed with these disc herniations? Lumbar protrusions can cause symptoms in the lower back and legs, but not the mid/upper back. Cervical stenosis can cause arm/hand symptoms, and occasionally diffuse symptoms.
