A member asked:

Why do i have fibrocystic breast change at 56?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not abnormal: The term fibrocystic changes is a general if not slightly over used term. The dr was probably describing dense breast tissue on mammogram. Breast tissue density tends to diminish in most women as they age and pass through menopause. Some women maintain dense breast tissue through out there life. It does not have specific connotations. Just a range of normal. Estrogens can increase this.
