A member asked:

My thyroid has lymphocytes in the biopsy what does that mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe Hashimoto: Lymphocytes are part of a disorder called chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis or hashimoto disease. This is an autoimmune disease against components of thyroid hormone production. You should have a thyroperoxidase antibody test to see if it is positive. That, combined with the biopsy result, would confirm the diagnosis.
