?Subungual Hematoma: If it turns black/blue under the nail you may have a subungual hematoma. These can really hurt and throb for days so i would get it checked out. Assuming no other confounding problems coexist the nail can have a small hole put in it to relieve the pressure and the pain relief is almost instantaneous. They will probably xray it which is a good idea as well. Hope this helps!:).
