A member asked:

What can spots liver mean on ultrasound?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Spots in the liver detected by ultrasound are usually further characterized as anechoic, hyper-echoic, calcific, fluid filled or solid. These additional descriptive terms can help better identify the 'spots'...These areas could be cycts, benign growths, malignant growths, scars, nemangiomas or abcesses as some possibilities. Sometimes additional tests are need to figure this out.
