If you get an absess on your gums can you pop it?

Yes, but...: A gum abscess generally signifies an underlying problem with an adjacent tooth, such as an abscessed tooth or a periodontal abscess. Popping it won't make it go away. You may have developed a sinus tract, or a fistula. You should see a dentist to determine what the underlying problem is and receive appropriate treatment. Good luck!

No: You need an oral surgeon to properly incise and drain the abscess and an xray to determine the source of abscess, so that it wont come back.
