Prostatitis: Acute bacterial prostatitis can occur at any age after puberty. While it is usually an autologous infection (from your own body's normal bacteria) it can be from std organisms. Since cultures can't be easily obtained from the prostate, younger sexually active men at risk of std are usually treated with oral antibiotics which also cover clamydia and other std organisms as well.
