I have had a lot of pain on my sides and back. doctors did scan and said i have sand on my kidneys especially right side.but how long till pain goes?

Flank pain: I'm uncertain what "sand on the kidneys" refers to. Back pain has many, many causes. Tiny sand-like stones are unlikely to be the culprit. In any case, i would recommend you see a urologist for ct review and exam if you have not already done so.
