Stay active: Arthritis in the hands is unfortunately common. In the past, rest was recommended, but we now know that rest may cause stiffness and worsening arthritis. Stay active and try some over the counter arthritis meds, if it is severe or worsens, than see your dr. For an evaluation, possible confirmatory x-rays, tests to r/o other causes and rx meds.
