Diplopia: Did you have a headache associated with this diplopia. Migraine headaches may be accompanied by many different abnormalities of eye movement that can last weeks, even if headache did not occur. Migraine can cause a variety of neurologic abnormalities.

Persistent diplopia: Diplopia (or double vision) has many possible causes. If you've had a negative workup, then the most common cause is that any underlying misalignment of your eyes (i.e. Horizontal or vertical) has become more symptomatic to you. This condition can be managed with prism in glasses. If it's more severe, then eye muscle surgery can be performed to reallign the eyes.
