Over last yr my wife's co2 has gone from 16 to 14, we learned today. she has migraines & fibromyalgia. could it be minor or r we headed to dialysis?

Acidosis: This is a complex problem that requires investigation. There are many causes other than kidney failure.

Acidosis: I have some questions. What is her potassium, bun, creatinine (c) and chloride? If she is acidotic with a c > 5-6, the start of some sort of dialysis may be to started soon. If she has a high chloride and a low potassium, she may have on type of a renal tubular acidosis that wastes co2 in the urine. Ask the doctor who ordered the blood for more information or see a nephrologist for answers.
