Symptoms? : You cannot anything on the information given black holes may have been there for years as far as we know multiple sclerosis is basically a clinical diagnosis in the absence of symptoms a repeat MRI is suggested in 6 months or so !

Possibilities: Would suggest followup brain MRI over next 6 months, and if changes are seen, likely MS. Other conditions need to be excluded, and hope this has been done already. The MRI is indeed bothersome, and the most likely answer could be MS. Keep close contact with a trusted neurologist, as you may well need to start treatment.
