Could a small piece of glass lodge in your intestines without immediate symptoms in a toddler?

Yes: Toddlers swallow lots of foreign bodies (fb). If such a fb makes it beyond the esophagus (swallowing tube), into the stomach, we usually just watch it, advising parents to watch for it in the stool. If the fb is very sharp or big, we give more thought to removing it. Most FBS will make it thru the GI tract without causing problems. If pain, vomiting, or fever occurs, seek care immediately.
