Many ideas...: It's a bloodless injection using a fine needle (before injecting, staff should always withdraw the plunger to make sure the return is clear). Initial doses are very small (they do build up to 0.5 cc in the end). Subcutaneous space is a "potential space" that can accept the volume (doesn't hurt as much as intradermal). Ask for staff you like. Topical anesthetic like lidocaine/prilocaine may help.

Speak to you Doc: If one is receive allergy vaccine and they are anxious it is important to try to understand why there is anxiety. Was there a previous bad reaction to a vaccine? Are there reactions occuring to the shot? Does one just not like getting allergy shots? Talk to your allergists.
