Recheck at visits: You can have the issue evaluated at the next regular visit. Normal testis can occasionally retract up into the fat pad in the groin but the doc can find them and bring them down.If they cannot be found or brought down, they can often be detected by ultrasound. Rarely, a surgeon will need to bring them down and anchor them to the scrotal wall.

Retractable testes : This is a situation that needs to be followed over time. If testes do not ascend by age five surgery may be needed

DONT WORRY IF PALPA: If the testes were palpable in the sac at birth and you don't feel them now and the pediatrician on exam can not feel them but shold be able to bring them down or feel in the inguinal area, with time these will come down(retractile testis) this is as long as both testis were palpable at birth and was recorded on the newborn exam. This is due to cremasteric reflex by cremastric muscle attache to test.
