Very few ways...: Whether one does or does not develop arthritis is likely primarily genetic, but, wear and tear from trauma, overuse and being overweight also contribute. You cannot yet change your dna, so staying fit/keeping your bmi in the "normal" zone, avoiding jobs, sports or activities that cause repetitive stress on your joints is all you can control.
