A member asked:

For accurate testosterone labs it's imp to have blood drawn prior to 10am bc levels fluctuate so much later in day.does this rule apply to lh/fsh as well? lh/fsh levels take after 11am not reliable?

Complicated answer: In men under age 40 years testosterone should be checked prior to 10 am. Lh and fsh levels are secreted in short pulses throughout the day from the pituitary gland. The accuracy of the tests is really dependent on the time the hormones are secreted. These levels are used to determine if one has a primary testicular disorder.
