Check with your doc: Pulmonary embolism is a life threatening disease. Once you mention the disease you must see a doctor. The question can never be answered on line because pulmonary embolism can mimic so many other things. However, this sounds more like asthma. Please see a lung doc asap. Do not wait once you mention pe, it is like a red color to the bull.

No: But congestive heart failure or another entity such as allergies to dust, pets, fibers in the bed may be more likely for the short breath.
