I'm an 18 year old male and going to start norvasc (amlodipine) tonightfor my bp. is it safe and won't it harm my development? i'm really scared to take it.

Norvasc (amlodipine) at 18 years: Norvasc (amlodipine) does not harm development. It treats hypertension and prolongs one's life by doing so. Take it with no worries. You do have a problem, hbp at the age of 18. Ask your doctor to see if you have secondary hypertension (s). This may be caused by a renal artery stenosis due to a conn's syndrome being present, among others. If you do have s and it is treated, you may be able to stop meds.
