Qt interval: If he had a normal heart rate there would have been no effect on his q-t interval despite his nervousness.

Not really.: Prolonged qtc should always be investigated, and even more so in boys. Genetic tests are available only for known varieties of lqts; there are many cases that do not fit in the known categories.
