Not as well: After bariatric surgery we usually recommend taking B12 supplements either sublingual (dissolvable under your tongue), with injections. Regular B12 pills are not absorbed very well an may lead to deficiencies.

B12: Well, B12 is a vitamin, not a protein, but yes you can absorb B12 after having surgery. Patients will typically take a B12 or b complex sublingual tablet (under the tongue) that dissolves and gets absorbed very well.
