Not at all.: Although the kidney itself has no pain receptors, the structures around it do, such as the ureter (that drains into the bladder) and the capsule (that encases the kidney). When there is swelling, infection, blockage, or inflammation in or around the kidney, such as occurs with stone removal, it's normal to have pain. It should decrease with time. Call doctor if fever or blood.

Here are some ...: Did you have kidney stone removal for real obstruction & its related symptoms or preventing obstruction? If the former, after stone removal & stent removal, you should feel much better and in time pain should disappear. If the latter and you're still hurting, reconsider if the pain was related with stone, oftentimes maybe not but with musculoskeletal or neuromuscular pain. So, be careful for ....
